A day in your life

I look at my son everyday and think someday I'll miss this. In thirty years, when he's grown up with a family of his own, I'll miss the day to day things that make our life what it is.  I'll miss making his breakfast, reading him a bedtime story, dancing in the living room.  I'll miss how his head smells after a bath, the way he looks at me when he's doing something naughty, his happy babble.  I will miss it.

I know in thirty years, I'll be pouring over every photograph I've ever taken, a bit misty eyed, fondly remembering when.  Every photograph will take me back to a memory, and I'll relive these years again.

I want to help you remember when.  I want to create a session that documents who you are as a family right here and now.  I want to capture the silliness, the crankiness, the unconditional love that makes your family who it is.

I want to chronicle a day in your life.

Contact me at sarah(at)pikkuarkki.com or 050 349 4460 to schedule your session, party, or buy a gift certificate.

Unreal

My belly is ginormous.  Sorry, I don’t have photos of it- I’ve been too lazy to take one.  You’ll just have to take my word for it. The size of my ginormous belly is an indication as to how soon our family will go from three plus dog to four plus dog.  And this, my...

Family: Ade at 13 months

We found each other in a most unusual way.  Olli’s brother’s wife’s coworker is Ade’s godmother.  And Ade’s godmother sent me an email using my webform.  WELL.  The webform didn’t work!  And didn’t send me the email!  So, the godmother casually mentioned it to my sister-in-law who told me.  Gah!!  I immediately changed my website,...

Barcelona Barbecue

Or should I say El Masnou barbecue?  Because for one glorious day last week, Olli and I escaped the city (note to future self:  URBAN HOLIDAYS ARE NOT FOR CHILDREN) to head to our friend’s parents’ house for a lovely barbecue. And by barbecue I mean excuse to stuff our faces. And talk. And stuff...

Playgroup: Koff Park

Playgroup!  At a park!  Not in a house! The sudden great weather gave us courage to head outside!  And wouldn’t you know it, for the two hours we were actually at the park, it was pretty stinkin’ cold and grey and windy. And great weather for photographs! And what greater subjects than these adorable kids...

You should see the other guy…

So, Benjy had a rough 24 hours last week.  He transformed from a little boy into a total kamikaze, falling off the couch three times and falling off the outside step once. Here are his battle wounds.

Why I love Olli…

Okay, so now it’s time for the last installment of marriage week.  The super sappy “Man oh man, am I glad I married this guy” post.  Here are a just two reasons- 1.  This house: This is a giant house in Masala, Kirkkonummi.  It was built in the 1930′s and now is totally and completely...

Ain’t nothing cuter…

… than a baby in a diaper. You can dress ‘em in their Sunday finest.  Put on the funniest little t-shirt.  Find the cutest shoes and best hat. They won’t be as cute as a kid in a diaper. Nope, not nearly.

Potty Training

Here’s my how-to guide on potty training, gleaned from one week’s experience in potty training my own little bundle of joy. Step one:  buy the training potty.  This is seemingly more difficult than one would think- I kept forgetting to buy it when at the store.  Like, FOR MONTHS kept forgetting. Step two:  put your...

Easter Service

I’m going to show you a picture here that marks one of the best, most joyous Easters I can remember. The service was lovely, my handsome husband played the cello during the hymns, there was a baptism, and an African feast in the crypt afterwards.  It was WONDERFUL. And I took the annual Easter photo...
